Error when trying to Uninstall via Add/Remove Programs

Am trying to uninstall Word 2002 but when doing so via Add/Remove programs, I get the following message:

This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer Patch Package.

Any suggestions for either how I can get a "valid" Windows Installer Patch Package or how to remove Word 2002 some other way???

Thanks in advance!

There seem to be a number of circumstances under which you might get that error. Read through some of the links in the following Google search to see if you can find a solution or information pertinent to your particular problem. Let us know what you come up with.
