mail I send sometimes takes hours????

I have windows 98/second edition. I'm on cable. For some reason lately when I send e-mail via outlook express the person doesn't receive it for 5-10hours ????? A couple of times they didn't get my mail for between 1-2 days. It's not all the time but does anyone know or have any answers as to why they "sometimes" get my e-mail hours later and sometimes right away when I send it?

Who is your Internet Provider, have you tried to send an email other than outlook what i mean is that, have you tried to access your email account directly from your Internet company web page and send an email from there? and if you do does it take that long?

I'm with rogers cable. I didn't know I could go to their home page and send e-mail directly from there. I will try it and see what happens today after work. Thank you for the info.
