Last night I received a notification from norton antivirus that it found a virus on from IE, a trojan file. Now i get endless pop up windows even with IE closed down. I ran a complete system scan with Norton and it found nothing. What can I do to stop these windows? One of the pop up windows says sypware is installed on my system, click to find out how to get rid of spyware. Thanks!

Don't click on anything. Stop and follow this:

http://download.com.com/3000-8022-10...ml?tag=lst-0-2 - Spybot

http://download.com.com/3000-8022-10...ml?tag=lst-0-5 - AdAware

Download those update the hell out of them and then have them run on your system you just got a bad case of spyware.

Moving to the Security forum. Please read through the other posts in Security to find out more about Ad Aware, SpyBot, and other trojan/spyware/malware removal tools.
