BSC is seeking a Data Architect for our Shared Data Services Group that will be responsible for responsible for the development of an enterprise data architecture and promoting best practices for data management and application integration. This candidate will define an architectural strategy and solution design that supports the short, medium and long-term data management objectives and best practices and that meet the needs of the application architecture roadmaps and development directions, e.g. SOA, maintain the architectural integrity of the products and solutions in multiple domains, recommend designs that are consistent with BSC’s architectural roadmap. The Data Architect will manage projects relating to the implementation and continuing renewal of application architecture frameworks, tools and platforms, support the decision-making process by providing analysis of existing and preferred applications w/I multiple product lines.

Job Requirements
10 + years as an Applications Architect at least 2 years of Enterprise level Architecture experience.
10+ years of professional IT experience in a large organization with complex, multi-tiered technical solutions, including Web portals, hosted environments, mainframes, and mid-range platforms. BS in Computer Science or Engineering, MS preferred but not required. BS or BA in other discipline with at least 7 years direct experience.
Must have mainframe engineering and architecture experience; preferably with CICS/DB2 and/or IMS.
Must have experience with middleware/application integration products such as See Beyond, MQ Series, JAM.
8+ years experience in relational data modeling required, with minimum of 3 years working at an enterprise data architect level.
Solid understanding and experience with Data Management and Metadata Management processes and principles

Development must consist of deployed, large distributed systems across multiple platforms (Part of the development experience may be in mainframe languages such as COBOL, ALC)
Demonstrated proficiency in understanding rapid and iterative deployment methodologies.
Experience building the framework for a services oriented architecture (SOA).

Health care background is not required, but preferred.
