BSC is looking for a Technical Project Manager for our eCommerce Solutions Group that is responsible for ensuring on time and on budget delivery of this large project by managing team members. The project will be built on IBM Websphere with portal technology, and will utilize a Services Oriented Architecture and involve J2EE development. The goal is for BSC to participate actively in architecting and designing the project solutions, and to leverage development vendors to build and test the solutions.

The candidate will:
  • Report to the Planning Manager of eCommerce Solutions, and is responsible for technical delivery of the project. Manage the IT project schedule (including technical vendors’ schedules) and ensure coordination between all parties
  • Work with QTC Development Manager, other project managers, and development staff to ensure on time and on budget project delivery.
  • Oversee the budget for the project and provide weekly status to Business PM, who has overall responsibility for successful project execution.
  • Manage key vendors and partners to deliver solutions, partner with development manager to work across IT with Infrastructure, Security, Applications Service and Support, to successfully deliver projects
  • Work with the Quote to Card business core team to understand business roadmap and how QTC projects meet the strategic objectives document.write('\x26'+"nbsp;")
Job Description
  • 5-8 years technical project management managing teams to deliver online transaction processing systems development & implementation, in complex multi-layered, E-commerce environments – delivering & supporting business critical functions.
  • Experience in managing & delivering across a combined in-source/out-source environment (ISPs, ASPs, Offshore, etc.) is required.
  • Experience with iterative life cycle methodologies ideal (e.g. Rational Unified Process, Use Cases), and in applying the principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high performing teams to meet project goals of quality, schedule and budget.
  • Ability to communicate effectively dealing with internal and external customers and suppliers, experience with web experience (who provide User Interface Design) and/or E-business organizations.
  • Extensive experience in project management in a multi-disciplinary setting, information technology or web development/technology.
  • Knowledge of health plan operations and systems sufficient to appropriately identify issues that impact project's success.
  • Experience with Websphere is ideal.
  • Health Care background preferred but not required.
