Hi all
I have a strange sound issue. I will try to explain.
The night before my PC was fine, I could watch video, play music and all was great, turned it off and went to bed.
Next morning, I switched on, and now all my sound, including video, wav, mp3, any thing that has video or sound, is playing a double speed, (just like alvin and the chipmunks). As far as I can tell nothing has changed.
If I switch the audio device in control panel to the "USB DEVICE", everything is works fine, albeit I can hardly hear anything. As soon as I switch back to the sound card it goes asll fast again.
I have removed all sound software, drivers, and from Device Manager, removed all codecs, and with none of this installed, video plays ok, but no sound, when I reinstall everything, it goes fast again. Very strange and very frustrating. (this includes web streaming video)
I have a Gigabyte K8NSNX-939 motherboard (on board sound) Realtek AC97-7.1.
Win XP SP2
Can anyone shed any light? I would prefer not to have to reinstall everything.
Many thanks
Scot
