Yellow flashing question mark/ "X".....GRRRRRRR

just joined and was wondering if someone could help me with this annoying little problem. I have this yellow flashing question mark/"X" on my toolbar. nothing happenes when you click on it, and about every five minutes a small window pops up saying...system has detected blah blah blah. you get the point. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rescan with HJT and check the following

Close all other windows and click Fix Checked

Search for and delete the following file in bold

C:\WINDOWS\system32\dpfwu.dll

Start CCleaner.
Click on the "Options" icon at the left side of the window, then click on "Advanced."
Deselect "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours".
Click on the "Cleaner" icon on the left side of the window, then click Run Cleaner to run the program.
After CCleaner has completed, click Exit.

Run HJT and click Open the misc tools section
Click Open uninstall manager and click Save list
Copy and paste the list in your next reply

Your log is clean. Everything ok?

Clean out System Restore by turning it off and then back on:

Click Start.
Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
On the System Restore tab, check Turn off System Restore
Click Apply and Ok

Turn back on System Restore:
click Start.
Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
On the System Restore tab, uncheck Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply and Ok
This will create a new clean restore point.
