I am fixing a friend's computer that had a lot of spyware, adware, trojan horses, etc. on it. I have the computer up to date with all windows updates and upgraded to IE 7. I have gotten rid of all the viruses and am running the latest definitions from norton. For some reason after being up and runnig for about 10-15 minutes IE stops finding web pages. AOL IM still works and I can download updates from Symantec and other programs so I know it is still connected to the internet. I have an IP address and everything else after IE loses its connection so I am guessing it is just a problem with IE. Any ideas what is going on here. Thanks.

An update. I was able to get Firefox 2.0 on the machine and they both lose their connection after about 10 minutes it seems. IM and every other internet application still work just not the browsers. Please help.
