Help Help uninstalling Norton Antivirus 2002 Professional Edition on Windows XP

  #1
Nov 16th, 2006
I am trying to uninstall Norton Antivirus 2002 Professional Edition so I can install a 2007 upgrade. I've tried the uninstall button, the add/remove program, and even got instructions from Symantec website on how to remove it through the registry, and not everything it said to delete was there. Any ideas on how to get rid of this? Or should I go to Geek Squad and pay out the wazoo for their help?

I just tried to have a look at these instructions and I was not able to get this specific information for AV2002PE for XP on their website. Maybe you had the instructions for a later version? Anyway, here's a link to an automatic uninstall tool for AV2002, which seems to differ in the procedure to later versions: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/englis...ols/SYMCLN.EXE
To uninstall AV2002 manually there is not much more to do than the steps described here:
