Dasher in java

Hi everyone
I'm new here and was wondering if anyone could help me please. I am trying to implement dasher in java. Here is the link to dasher

I have already set-up the main GUI components and have left the BorderLayout.CENTER for the main program. I have also written basic pseudo for the language model which I hope to get working soon.
What i am trying to do at the moment is work with the graphics so that the behaviour works as the C version.
All comments welcome. Thank you in advance for your help.
