That log looks good now. You need to choose the normal startup mode now. Also Please go here & install ALL critical updates required for your system.

How do i choose the normal startup mode? This is probably the easiest thing ever to do. I think i might be a moron. I got the downloads and all. I must say that you are amazing. thank you so much for the help. You saved my life. I thought i screwed up my parents computer pretty badly. Need to be more careful. THANK YOU AGAIN!

I am not conversant with XP so am not sure. With my W2K after booting in safe mode, it automatically boots into normal mode when I select restart.
Can you do a screenshot of the message?
Anyone with XP have the answer to this plz?
Note: Unless in the corners of the screen it says "Safe Mode" you are not in safe mode.

Go to Start/Run & type in Msconfig & hit enter. Under the general tab there should be an option for normal startup-load all device drivers & services. Pick that one.
