I fixed my ipod - has anyone else tried this

My Ipod 20gb grayscale was showig the sick ipod icon and the warranty was expired and apple expected me to pay $388 in order to replace the HDD and many other components,It made noises so i tried throwing it at the floor gently
It now works as fine as ever :lol:

I've gone through too many iPods. Now I'm at the point where I don't buy new ones.

Lol for $388 you can almost buy like a brand u video ipod. If it is a hard drive problem Freezers also work i have found however a rew things to rember when doing this. Make sure it is a frost free freezer otherwise you can get and icy layer on the inside of the ipod if its left in there to long. the second is after you take it out let it sit on the bench for an hour or 2 just to gte rid of any condensation that may have built up when you took it from a -0 enviroment to a room temp enviroment.
