Was having trouble with file explorer, internet explorer and "my computer". Unchecked the "allow third party...." tab in IE preferences and it is working better now. Here is my log. Any suggestions?

Your log shows nothing out of the ordinary. If you can give us more details of the problems you were having, we might be able to offer specific suggestions.

Thanks for the reply.

The problems I was having was slow boots and constant hard drive access. Also it really seemed like my CPU was being used by something, although when I would pull up my task manager it would say only like 2 or 3% usage. I also could not open any file explorer or internet explorer windows. This all seemed to have came about right after I downloaded the IE7 upgrade.

After looking on here and seeing a suggestion to open in safe mode and then uncheck the "allow third party extensions" tab in the advanced preferences, I haven't had as many problems. It is still slow booting though.

Well- you don't have an excessive number of running processes or startup applications, so it might take a bit of experimentation to find out what's causing the lag a startup. I'd start by uninstalling the Google Toolbar, as that app has been problematic for some people. Beyond that, you can fire up msconfig and start selectively disabling other startup items to see if you can narrow down the culprit(s).

Although it won't make a difference in your startup issues, you can have HijackThis fix the following entry, which is left over from a McAfee installation:

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)
