Hi peoples, this is my first time so if im doin it wrong please let me no tanx. Wel wea do i start...one minute this computer is workn thn nxt minute its NOT! After loggin on to windows xp home the desktop appears but the icons and taskbar dont appear its bn lke this 4 a wile if anyone can help me out wit this problem would be much appreciated. Tanx

sometimes this problem of the desktop can be repaired by doing control - alt - delete when it hangs at login and then killing the "explorer.exe" process and then restarting it by typing it into the "run" menu from task manager

Yeah I bet explorer.exe isn't starting up to begin with. I'll have to ask someone who knows more about the windows config to figure how you can make it do it automatically again, but for now just use task manager to run explorer.exe.(thats all you have to type in the run box "explorer.exe")
