A friend of mine set up his new computer but in the mean time he set up a raid array with only one computer. I am not familiar with the abit way of doing it but it looks like it is a 0 array. If he only is using one disk will that cut into performance?

If he's only using one hdd then he doesn't have a RAID array.

You can read about RAID arrays here.
