In my control panel I have this " 2020 search" app in there. I cant remove or delete it. so i looked everywhere online to get rid of this 2020 search thingy and found a forum with instructions on how to and here it is .

Download & instal Adaware from here
& update it B4 scanning.
In settings under 'scanning,' have it set to
'scan within archives,'
'scan active processes,'
'scan registry,'
'deepscan registry'
'scan my IE Favourites for banned URL's,'
'scan my host's file.'
In 'tweaks' under 'scanning engine' set it to 'unload recognised processes during scanning.'
Also in 'tweaks' under 'cleaning engine' set it to 'Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion' & 'let Windows remove files in use at next reboot.'
Select 'activate in-depth scan' before starting scan.
When the scan is finished select 'next.'
Remove what it finds by placing a check in the box to the left of the object. Reboot

Download & instal Spybot S&D from here Update it B4 scanning. Go into settings & have it check for Beta releases also & download if available.
After the scan is complete, have spybot fix everything marked RED.
On the page that first opens when you start Spybot there is an option to immunise, you should do this. In the immunise section there is also a link to download Spywareblaster. Download that & you can keep it updated by selecting the same link that you use to download it. Reboot

Download HijackThis from here & unzip it into it's own, permanent folder, (not a temporary folder & not on the desktop). Start HJT & press the scan button. When the scan is finished the scan button will change to save. Save the log to a text file, copy the entire contents of the text file & paste it into the body of your post. DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YET. Most of what is there is harmless & even necessary to the running of your system.

No prob , Yeah ive fixed and got rid of 2020 search but now im currently running into a new problem. Seems as though while im running internet explorer for more than 5 mins it freezes and causes my comp to freeze all together, while doing ths wont let me automatically shutdown.. so i have to doit it manually everytime. I hope its not a virus but heres a HIJACK THIS LOG , might have something here thats slowing or freezing my comp.

1.91 ghz
512 ram
running windows xp
running anitvirus progs ---> macfee,zone alarm
other progrms ---> adware 6.0, avg & spy bot
w/ a couple music programs

nothing in my start up panel soo i should be alright in this department but since ive correct all these nasty problems 2 days ago thats when ive been noticing my computer and internet explorer has been real slow and sluggish..

This entry can go as it is viewed as nothing but spyware. It comes bundled with AOL.

Do you have anything disabled in Msconfig?

Just noticed at the bottom of your post that you have two AV's. You don't run them both together? You should have one set for on-demand & the other for your real time scanning.

Im not sure or understand what you mean by having anything disabled in misconfig?

Nah Macffee is set to scan my system once a month but its on my bottom taskbar along with, zone alarm , avg and volume control settings . should i shut down AVG or Macfee?

In regards to the Anti Virus programs, one or the other needs to be stoppes from starting at startup. Programs designed for the same use, running at the same time can cause conflicts.
In regards to Msconfig, go to Start\Run & type in msconfig & press enter or ok. Go to the start up tab & make sure that ALL programs have a check next to them & reboot. Post a hijackthis log then if some were disabled.
In regards to viewpoint, scan with hijackthis & have it fix

boot into safe mode & delete this folder
