That is normal procedure for scannow. Did you do everything from post #4 above? If not, please do so.

Can you please do the following.

Can you disable Windows Defender as it may interfere with the removal process. Please leave it disabled until your PC has been given the all clear.
  • Open Windows Defender
  • Click Tools
  • Click General Settings
  • Scroll down to Real Time Protection Options
  • Uncheck Turn on Real Time Protection (recommended)
  • After you uncheck this, click on the Save button
  • Close Windows Defender

Download the Adware.Istbar removal utility from Symantec and following the instructions on the same page.

Go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall the following, if present:

MyWebSearch

The above could appear anywhere within the entry. Be careful not to remove any personal or system software.

Run HiJackThis then:

1. Click "Open the Misc Tools Section"
2. Click "Open Process manager"

Next, while holding down the CTRL key, locate (if present) and click on (highlight) each of the following:

C:\WINDOWS\ysavv.exe

Now double-check and make sure that only those item(s) above are highlighted, then click "Kill process". Now, click "Refresh", check again, and repeat this step if any remain.

Now, close all instances of Internet Explorer and any other windows you have open except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

Select the first option to run Windows in Safe Mode hit enter.

After making the last set of changes, and re-running AVG AniVirus in Safe Mode, it looks like the PC is finally clean. I have successfully run the McAfee scan with no hits on winlogon.exe. AVG picked up two trojans, infecting 50 different objects, after I made the changes with Hijack. It wouldnt clean the files until I ran it in safe mode. Thanks for all of your help. I couldnt have done this without you. Please take a look at the hijack log and see if there is anything else that i should be aware of.

I have this same problem, the virus was found by McAffee but cannot be deleted, except it was found in Google Video Player. I deleted the program and reinstalled a while ago, but it happened again. Any ideas?
