Dell xps won't start after power cut

Hello

after searching on google with my problem this seemed the place to ask.

So yesterday there was a power cut which turned off my computer, so 5 minutes later i go to fire it back up and there is another power cut during the boot up i think.

Now whenever i try to boot it up i get an option to start in variouse safe modes or regular mode but every time it begins loading windows it hits a blue screen.

If i put the dell resource cd in to repair or reinstall windows it says

setup did not find any hard disk drives installed

(so im guessing its a hard drive problem)

ive also tried to clear the cmos which some1 said to try but with no difference.

Any help would be appreciated

cheers

Have you checked in the BIOS to see if the IDE 0 is still enabled? You could also just try clearing the CMOS.
