right click, choose open with, the program i need isn't listed so i browse find the program in program files and open..............but it isn't part of the open list? This works fine on other pc's in office, what the _____ is going on.

as in, it does not add itself to the open list?
if that is the case, you can try checking the box: always use this program to open files of this type' in the 'choose program...' menu.

true it doesn't add itself to the list, and i did try checking the box first and it still won't add the program to the open list.
