My son has recently aquired a Belkin Wireless Router but has had a lot of trouble configuring it so I took it down to my house to configure on my machine which runs XP Home SP2 the same as his, it took me about 10 mins, took it back to his machine but failed again The Windows Firewall on my machine is turned off I run Zone Alarm .We both have the same ISP namely Tiscali & the router was configured to Tiscali Belkin settings
I switched off the Windows Firewall on his machine & tried to configure but failed again & when I went back into Windows Firewall it was turned on I tried several times but the same thing happened it seems as if Windows Firewall is forming a barrier to the Belkin & will not remain switched off
I would be extremely grateful if someone out there can offer a solution

turn windows firewall off. you don't really need it if you're behind the router
