Hi, I'm looking for feedback on my music site. I know I have some graphic problems, but I find it hard to see what the site looks like to most people. I use a Mac, and most people use PC's so the site looks totally different!

Please tell me what I need to change, any ideas, etc. I'm also having some trouble keeping users on the site it seems. Around 85% leave within the first 4 minutes, so any ideas of how to keep people on the site, and maybe order?

Thanks for your help!

-Darren

Well if you're sure the site is built correctly....you may want to question your host because I have a T3 line and your page would NOT load...I let it time out...so unless you have some INCREDIBLE flash lol...I think that may cause some viewers to leave....because if it won't even load, I can only imagine how the site moves once you're in....just a tip ;-)

Hey thanks for letting me know. I'm hosted with dreamhost.com. I don't have any flash on the site at all... so it just makes me wonder and worry why you couldn't view the site!

Is there any way I can find out how often people can not load the site?

I just viewed your site and everything looks fine. The pictures are a LITTLE and I mean little bit grainy but nothing to worry about. So what exactly are you wanting to do with the site?

Currently I'm selling "custom drum tracks" on the site. I record drums in my studio to people's mp3, then I send them the invoice, afterward they upload the files on an FTP server. I'm planning on putting drum loops as well on the site this month.

I'm wondering what you like/dislike about the site. Is there anything that would make the site easier for finding certain info, etc? I know you said it looks fine, but is fine a good rating?

I really want to make the site draw in more customers. Currently I have about 85% leaving the site within the first 4 minutes, and from the others, I would say 1% actually order. I even added a "newsletter" section giving away free drum loops to encourage people to sign up for the newsletter, but so far that has not been working.

I'm wondering if it has to do with the site's design or look?

Likes--

1. The banner/graphic on the hompage with the picture of the red drums and the words, "Add real drums custom made for your songs". It's a sharp picture,

2. FAQ file is complete and eay-to-understand

3. Samples sound great. Just for fun I think it would be neat to have a sample with drums and without-- so the customers can better appreciate what you do.

4. General navigation of site is very good.

My dislikes are all nit-picks.. don't have any serious dislikes--

1. The gray border around the homepage is nice...don't like the green around the faqs and reviews...

2. Also in the faqs and samples pages, you have some quotes from satisfied customers... they're hard to read on my screen....

3. The little drum logo in the upper left has a strange background... I'd go for a higher-res graphic...

4. On the homepage, the free newsletter field is off-center in the box... but only by a little bit.

5. Maybe I just missed it, but I didn't see the prices posted anywhere, yet I did see an "order" button. Would somebody really "order" without knowing the price?

6. If I were serious about purchasing custom drums for my songs, I might want to contact you in person before ordering. I see there is an email, which is great-- not sure what kind of business set up you have, but if it is realistic for your size business, a phone number might be useful.

Overall, I think the site is well-done and very professional.

Hey Fireboat, thanks for your great feedback!

I'm going to add the samples with drums and without drums, that is a really great idea.

The green background on the faq and review pages is good to know. On my Mac computer is all looks grey to me! That's the biggest problem on this computer, I can't tell what a PC user sees. I'll be fixing that asap.

For the orders, I'll be making sure that I make the prices more visable, if you didnt' see it then I'm sure many other people are having the same problem.

As for everything else, pictures, etc. Great comments, I'm going to work on fixing all the small things you mentioned. I want the site to be as user friendly as possible.

Thanks again for the great comments!
