Hi,
I recently bought a logitech headset (not the USB one) but it isn't working properly. The thing is it works fine after I use a friends USB microphone. So I use his and then I use mine after that and it works fine. However as soon as I shutdown and restart my microphone goes back to not working again. I test it using the audio and video setup on microsft messenger. The volume isnt muted. The mic is not switced to mute. Anyone got any ideas? Any help is appreciated!

You need to adjust volume / select source for RECORDING not playback (which is the default window in volume control). Change to Recording volume control by clicking options/properties and make sure that the Microphone's "select" checkbox is checked. Do not crank up the volume if it is 1/2 way. It would make ALLOT of noise on the receiving end.
I say what I see. If you find my words offensive, then you find my reality offensive.
