I would also like to allow private messages to be able to be sent by members only. Also Administrator access would be required so I can move Threads around if they are posted in the wrong place, remove inapropiate Threads and even close Threads. A nice little touch would be a mail sent to people who are "watching" the thread so they know when some one has added to it.

Problems...

I have absoultly no knowledge of creating forums.
My website does not have a domain and its not hosted yet (If anyone could recommend anyone for this I would be very greatful)

I know its a lot to ask I wouldn't mind having a go myself but not sure if I can put the time into learning it.

Lastly I have heard that some hosting companies will create forums for you is this true? and does it cost much?
Go to http://proboards50.com/index.cgi and create a free forum there.

creating a forum is simple. there are tons of them as well for free. but the most commonly used ones are invision free, simple machines forums, and phpbb2. There are some companies that will help you get it up and running in no time. You can set up board permissions in practiclly any of the three above (example: members only sections/members can only pm/members can only upload images etc). From what it looks like a lot of these people here didn't exactly answer your questions and were more of trying to advertise their company to you. That shouldn't be the case at all. A customers questions should be answered first before advertising or making a suggestion. Advertisments should always be posted last after all questions are answered. I hope this helps. I know some places that you can get a domain for free but you wont own them. If you are looking to buy a domain then I suggest www.godaddy.com. Their price's for domains are extremely cheap. As for web host if you'd like you can check out our hosting company at www.spiralmindshosting.com. We offer free hosting as well and allow free hosting for forums. Setting them up is extremely easy through cPanel's Fantastico. Only thing we require is the banner to be on your forum. Usually the banners don't get in the way cause they fit in fairly well. We offer Simple Machine Forums and phpbb2 in cPanel's Fantastico. Let me know if you need anything else. I'll be glad to answer your questions for you.

right on PHPBB2 is the way to go. And you can customiz it as you like. PM ifyou need more info - I've build over 50 forums so far . Last one i've build (totalbodybuilding.net) in about 3h is static so it can be spidered.. u must take this in consideration also.

My help is free of charge so don't worry :cheesy:
