It is practically impossible to teach good programming style to students that have had prior exposure to Basic; as potential programmers they are mentally mutilated beyond hope of regeneration.

I think most of the ones people get on the first try come from a bit of thinking or just being familiar with the riddle. Though I wouldn't completely discount the effects of a quick google search
