users uploading pics i want to let my website visitors upload thier pics on my site. i don't want to be limited by any community. want to have the ability to let anyone post thier pics and to resize them automatically and display instantly on the web. along with some text. also i need to protect these pics so that people don't leech them off my site. any advice?

How about installing a gallery script? If you're PHP/MySQL driven, then something like Coppermine or Gallery2. They both do the trick. Unless you really want something quite simplistic and small, then try searching for small scripts that do the trick on Hotscripts.com.
