MSIE Status Bar

Why the hell does the status bar come and go in MSIE - it really is annoying - mind you I don't really care - I just can't believe that you should have to keep selecting view-->status bar just to keep an eye on the status of a page loading from session to session and even window to window!!!

I know this has been asked before but I can't understand why an option checked in view would come and go the way it does?? :rolleyes:
