my pc is acting weird...

ok, basically my pc sometimes just sort of freezes... i have to press ctrl+alt+del for it to continue working again. And even worse, sometimes pressing ctrl+alt+del doesnt work..
here are the specs of my pc,
intel dualcore 2 duo
1gig ram
300gig hd
running windows xp..

can anyone please help me??

well,, i wasnt doing a lot of stuff,, its just i noticed that there is quite a lot of processes running on the task manager..
