the reason is simple, what u expect to give from u r site makes members to attract people.
Some of dull boards ( VB)

GO4i.NET, has no boards currently dude. I think you have quoted it wrong. Site is running some tech news. Really damn good !
Why dont u guys check : http://www.go4i.net/
BTW, vBulletin is really a big deal only if ur into a business and one like Dani WEB, unless going for open source + free stuffs is better.
PHPBB is the best, all the present forums which still come under php+mysql are based on idea by PHP BB !
Old is always gold dude !

I would say 100% that vBulletin tops IPB, my friend thinks otherwise.

I'm new to these boards here and I have my own phpbb board. I am subscribed to many different boards all releated to my topic of being a DJ. Some are using Vbulletin and some are using phpbb. My board is using phpbb Integramod, which is packed with some really nice features that standard phpbb doesn't have. One board I use, operates vBulletin that the administrator has set the refresh rate so short that it sometimes gets tough to answer the posts.

What do you mean by the refresh rate?

I have but so much time to post a thread before the server refreshes. Once it does that, everything I typed is lost. I got tired of fussing at him about it. He knows how to control it, he knows it's agrravating but he doesn't care about that. The trouble is that sometimes people pour out their heart and soul into their responses and as soon as it refreshes, it's all for not.

And for the second poster. I think phpBB Has more Add-On Features, Its easier to edit, I think (I've tried both). But if you are a new User go with phpBB (Its Free).
Thanks,
