I have been hijacked by the about:blank virus. I have had it for 3-4 weeks. I just spent over $450 on the Geek Squad to come out and run all kinds of programs. I have Norton Security 2004. I have Spyhunter, Ad-Aware, Spysweeper, Spybot, CWShredder, Adware Away. I have run CWShredder in safe mode under my name and as Administrator. Everytime it just comes back. I have posted before on ComputerCops.biz but no one answered my post. Please help!

ComputerCops is flat out ALL the time & they are all volunteers, the same as here. Anyway.... First up, dump spyhunter. http://www.netrn.net/archives2/000550.html

Close all (browser) windows & rescan with hijackthis. When the scan is finished place a check in the box to the left of the following entries & click 'fix checked' :

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

Please download & install
Regalyzer.

Copy and Paste:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows

into the address bar and press enter

double click on the AppInit_DLLs sub key and the value box will open.

check the contents -- should be the path to the dll.

Post your result Back here.

crunchie,
Thanks for your help. Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you.
I got rid of Spyhunter. Thanks for the heads up. Just sorry I wasted my money.
When I go to the RegAlyzer page, I can't find where to download it.
I googled it and downloaded it off of http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/12/5/12-5-51.shtml
but when I enter in the file you told me to search for and hit the search and scan button, it starts to scan, then it disappears off of my screen.
Any idea what's going on? Does that mean that I don't have the file? I have been working with computercops.biz and things are getting better, though I still findcwsjk.search when I run CWSshredder.
Here's my new log:

If you are working with someone at CC's at the moment, I would prefer that you stick with them as they offer excellent advice for your problems.
I see nothing in your log but the experts at CC will have an answer, I got most of my knowledge there
