I keep on getting an error message " the internet has stopped working, a problem has caused the program to start properly, windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available" but when I right click on the internet Icon on the taskbar and click on the "run as administrator" block internet explorer loads up with no problem, It doesn't make sense to me because I'm logged in as an administrator.
I just recently bought my computer and I have a windows VISTA OS.
Here is the error log:

If you go to tools and internet options and go into advanced, scroll all the way down to the Phishing filter section. Just above this section is an option call enable memory protection to help mitigate online attacks. Don't enable this. Uncheck it if you have this.
When I crashed IE, I could not even open it up. I had to right click on my IE icon and go to properties to get to display my internet options.

Upon resetting everything to default, I get the runonce webpage but as soon as I select a search provider or change the home page, I get the above message and it closes. Even if I don't select anything in the runonce page, I get the same crash and messages.

If you have a Canon printer with OmniPage Optical Character Recognition software, you will need to go to the OmniPage web site and download the Vista compatable version in order for IE 7.x to work properly. That is what worked for me.
The alternative is to uninstall the OCR software and go without it. The choice is yours and if you don't use it, there's no reason to keep it. Either solution will work.
