PR and Alexa rating are no indication of link value, traffic, or potential traffic from links.

Hey Avian, You could begin by adding your site to your signature file. Why not join 100 forums and write 30 useful and relevant forum replies per forum per day? To encourage people to click on your link you could mention that your sig link will send the forum reader to a resource on your site that will solve whatever problem it is that the forum is discussing! Voila!

This is not a good idea. Besides the fact there aren't that many forums related to any genre to join even if there was writing that much content would be prohibitive time wise. Plus, if you're going to spend that much time writing content you might as well make it content for your website. That's the kind of content that attracts visitors and links and will make you popular with humans and search engines.

I really dont know why people just want traffic. I ma a business men, and for me even if i get 100 users a day and all or major of them buy or register on my site giving me good ROI then i think its good for me.
Just getting a traffic is not going to be of any use unless your aim (to get more registration or selling of products) is fulfill.
