PHPBB is worst forum script for Security Reason.
I don't know why people choose it.
IPB is a good script with a good security system. But it is paid script.
If you want to use a free script, then use SMF. that is best in free forum.

I agree. PhpBB is a bit iffy. Vbuletin is better.

Re: phpbb vs IPB PHPBB has never been that secure... and SMF is one of the least secure forums out there. If you go with IPB or vBulletin you should have no problems with security if you take a few precautions, as with any forum.
