Help Sometimes an error come out "Could not connect to database".Why??

I've used php mambo and oracle 9 to develop a web-based application..I also used separate server for database and the system..but sometime an error occur to the database connection, its display "Could not connect to database" after submit the data..Anyone can help me out to solve this problem?

It could be just that the server was too busy handling other requests.
Daylight-saving time uses more gasoline

do you have enough ram?


i know that with mySQL (and i assume maybe in your case, with orcale), you get a nasty "cannot connect to socket" error if you dont have much RAM.
TRY MY SUGGESTIONS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

There may be following reasons.

1. still oracle's service is not started /service is stopped.
2. connect string is wrong.
