Homepage resets

My home page resets to About:blank. I've tried everything I could think of. So now I seek help from the experts. Please help me out here. Here is my current log:

OK- first, you seem to have had a couple instances of IE open when you ran HJT:

" C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"

HJT can't perform its fixes fully with the browser open; you should close all browser windows before doing any HJT fixes.

Download and run the "malware" removal utilities in my sig below. Allow them to fix any problems they find and post a fresh HJT log.

Ok ran ad aware, I used spyware doctor. I also ran Shredder. Here is the newest log with out IE running. This is a hard one to fix.... well for me it is.

Try downloading the newest version of CWShredder. It's supposed to fix this particular type of homepage hijack.

Also, check out this thread:

It has some instructions on removing one particular about:blank hijack. It worked like a charm for me-- if it works for you, shower the original poster with reputation points or something!

Also, you need to remove Download Accelerator Plus- it's adware. More info on that here:

Follow the DAP removal instructions in the link above, run HJT again, and have it fix the following:

- Reboot

- Delete the contents of your C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\Owner\LOCAL SETTINGS\Temp folder

- Delete C:\WINDOWS\System32\acpbah.dll

- Open the Internet Options control panel and delete your cookies and Temporary Internet files (including "offline content")

- Purge you browser cache

- Empty your Recycle Bin

Download and install APM from: http://www.diamondcs.com.au/index.php?page=apm

Close all windows except HijackThis and fix the lines above.

In the upper window of APM select explorer.exe
In the lower window find and rightclick the BHO from the HijackThis log
Select Unload DLL and click OK on the prompts that follow.

Reboot and scan with AdAware to remove the txt and html protocol association.
