Plug and play dissapeared
![]() |
Currently running windows XP with service pack 1. I had previously disabled plug and play through msconfig becuase the computer would freeze on start up with plug and play enabled. Now after I think I have finally solved the problem I go back into msconfig to re-enable it and its gone. No joke. It is completely off of the list. The hide microsoft services box is unchecked. Does anyone know whats going on ?
Try going into Start menu->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services. Find the Plug and Play service, start it, and set the startup type to Automatic.
