Hi there

Please read this post completely, it may make it easier for you if you copy and paste this post to a new text document or print it for reference later.

Step #1

Go to Start » Run » type in: regedit » OK.
  • On the leftside, click to highlight My Computer at the top.
  • Go up to File » Export
    Make sure in that window there is a tick next to "All" under Export Branch.
    Leave the "Save As Type" as "Registration Files".
    Under "Filename" put RegBackup.
  • Choose to save it to C:\
  • Click Save and then go to File » Exit.
This is so the registry can be restored to this point if we need it. It may take a minute.

Open notepad and copy and paste next present in the quotebox below in it:
(don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4)

Save this as fix.reg Choose to save as all files and place it on your desktop.

Don't do anything with this yet!

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Double-click on fix.reg you created earlier. After that run avg as instructed. reboot back into normal mode. Post a fresh hjt log.

Please read this post completely, it may make it easier for you if you copy and paste this post to a new text document or print it for reference later.

Step #1

Go to Start » Run » type in: regedit » OK.
  • On the leftside, click to highlight My Computer at the top.
  • Go up to File » Export
    Make sure in that window there is a tick next to "All" under Export Branch.
    Leave the "Save As Type" as "Registration Files".
    Under "Filename" put RegBackup.
  • Choose to save it to C:\
  • Click Save and then go to File » Exit.
Open notepad and copy and paste next present in the quotebox below in it:
(don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4)

Save this as fix.reg Choose to save as all files and place it on your desktop.

Don't do anything with this yet!

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Double-click on fix.reg you created earlier. reboot back into normal mode. Post a fresh hjt log.
