System Restore points lost on reboot

I have Windows XP Pro. I have more than ample space for System Restore, and the disk space usage for SR is set to maximum.

When I create a Restore Point - I am then able to view it in System Restore and the RP is saved in the System Volume Information folder.

However, when I switch off, or reboot the computer, the RP is still apparent in the SVI folder, but when I open System Restore it says there are currently no available points to restore.

I have tried switching SR off and rebooting then switching it back on again. Nothing seems to make any difference. I can only keep SR points until I switch off or reboot.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks

Here is just my suggestion. don't use System Restore I know you don't want to hear it you want a fix for your problem my solution would be to use Drive Image. Seriously drop SR!
