If I put in ata133 pci controller card in my system, would my pc with built in ide/ata66 interface also run at ata133? Which is better or faster hard drive, ata133 (7200rpm) or ata133 (5400rpm)? Thanks

What motherboard are you using?

Most motherboards will support ATA or PATA HDDs.

The bus speed of the PCI bus is 133 MB/s, so it should work. And the 7200rpm is the faster drive.

yeah you can run ata133 but it will run at ata66 speed. The more rpm = the faster the drive

I do not know what kind of motherboard I have but it is old presario and I'm sure the ide interface is ata66. If I will put in an ata133 hard disk to an ata133 add-on card at ata66 bus speed, will my system speed up or will there be no changes at all?

One more thing, which is faster, ata133 (7200rpm) or ata100 (7200rpm) hard disk? confusing?????

bigger numbers = better
