Anyways, CSS (Cascadign Style Sheets) are very powerful and that is what I use for formating and positioning. It is a lot easier than table layouts and you can do alot more. I have the graphic artist create an image in Photoshop, then I have at it. I slice the image up, create the DIVs, position them with CSS, and then you have a beautiful site.

In my opinion, the toughest part is creating a nice design and that is why I use an graphic artist.

I have attached one of the sites you had with some of the divs I would create. The neat thing about CSS is that the DIVs can overlap, like for the Nav bar.

All I know is that fireworks and photoshop DOES has it similarities. But if your looking for hardcore extentions to enhance your Fireworks then photoshop, then FW is the best way. But if your lookingto make somehting alittle more complicated then I would suggest PS(photoshop). Also alot of graphics artists uses FlashMX with both photoshop and or fireworks.

DaveSW - Thanks again for the tutorial, and info. I am starting to get the concept, but I am having an issue with a particular CSS element. backgroun-position. For each value position what is the order?

Meaning if you go background-position: 0 100px 200px 300px; how do you know what value is used in what property? i.e. top, left, etc!

I just can't seem to figure out a reasoning. Alphabetical, or Logical for the ordering??

Thanks!

Whenever I have a problem like that I head over to the CSS Specification: http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS21/

If you scroll down that page you get to the table of contents.
Appendix F, the full property table, is very useful if you need to know what CSS properties you can use, or you've forgotten the exact wording of it.
Other than that you can look up specific properties in the rest of the spec.

Hope that helps
Dave
