Jul 18th, 2004
couple of days ago my computer restarted and i got a weird countdown message about my login before windows xp went to my desktop. after that i couldn't close system processes saying Access denied when i could before. i am using sygate firewall and the two processes that are linking to look2me.com is winlogon, and rundll32.exe but those are crucial operations and i'm not sure how to fix that. I ran norton 2k4 pro and spybot s&d and mcafee virus scan and to no avail. the firewall solution does work but it is a memory hog and slows down gaming and other tasks. this is my log

Also, Download & instal Adaware from here
& update it before scanning.
In settings under 'scanning,' have it set to
'scan within archives,'
'scan active processes,'
'scan registry,'
'deepscan registry'
'scan my IE Favourites for banned URL's,'
'scan my host's file.'
In 'tweaks' under 'scanning engine' set it to 'unload recognised processes during scanning.'
Also in 'tweaks' under 'cleaning engine' set it to 'Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion' & 'let Windows remove files in use at next reboot.'

Get the VX2 Cleaner plug-in for Adaware here.

Start Adaware & run the plug-in. This will remove look2me.

Thanks Guys i found a lot of stuff i would never have found and look2me.com is gone for now but my administrator status is still hijacked. When i load safe mode there are two user names now when before there was only mine(the administrator) now theres a separate admin with a password that i do not know or ever set up. this happened around the same time all the look2me.com stuff went on. In my task manager i can't cancel system processes nemore when before i could have. says i lack access. here is my log
