Error code -36

I'm working on networking my Dells to my Mac, and when I do all the steps, I get error code -36 "The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in 'insert file name here' could not be read or written (Error code 136)" Any tips?

What instructions did you follow? How are you trying to connect? What version of OS X are you using? (I'm assuming you are using Mac OS X...?) Did you successfully mount the remote filesystem on the desktop? A screenshot might even be helpful.
