To want to be what one can be is purpose in life.
Cynthia Ozick, O Magazine, September 2002
The man who in view of gain thinks of righteousness; who in the view of danger is prepared to give up his life; and who does not forget an old agreement however far back it extends - such a man may be reckoned a complete man.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of "liberalism," they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948
“The essential notion of a socialist society is force.”
— Milton Friedman

He who shifts the blame probably isn't totally blameless.
(Could it be that they are both at fault?)

Got this from some light reading.....

Do not blame yourself for past errors. You are no longer the same person who made them and you cannot blame a person who does not exist.
The man who in view of gain thinks of righteousness; who in the view of danger is prepared to give up his life; and who does not forget an old agreement however far back it extends - such a man may be reckoned a complete man.

The sports page records people's accomplishments, and the front page shows you the people's failures.
