Hey new here and have seen you help alot of people out!

one day turned on the PC and mcafee came up with some warnings "svchost.exe has changed since you last gave it access to the internet" and the same for a few other things. so im guessing ive got a trojan/virus!

on top of this i cannot get into any microsoft websites/services, IE will not work, ebay, facebook, hotmail, msn all come up with "page cannot be displayed" when i try to sign in. so here is my log would appreciate it if you could take a look!

Basic questions, is your broadband/dial up fully plugged in and is conencted.
Or do you operate through a LAN?

yes its all connected! everything works (slowly) and the pc has become slow outside of the internet too

What antivirus programme are you running?
And have you done a virus/spyware scan recently?

i have Mcafee but its only 7.0

done many virus scans, mcafee picks up nothing, online ones pick up quite a few but are unable to get rid of them

What is your computer? Can you include the specs as well please.

its a packard bell, not sure about the specs!

Does your network connections say you are conencted to the internet?
Does this affect only the pages you said earlier, or are all of the websites unable to load?
Have you tried Firefox just to check that IE is your problem, and not your interent conenction in general.
If not then the Viruses are causing your problems, try AVG antivirus to get rid of them. There is a free version and i hear it is quite good.

Hello there, if you notice that your PC is running slow, it maybe possible that computer is still infected. In addition to viruses, your computer may be infected with spywares, Trojans, worms, adwares and other malwares. Please let us know what type of computer you have and also what anti-virus program you’ve used. Personally, if a PC is infected, I do recommend using more than one antiviris program to help you. My personal recommendation for cleanup softwares are : Adware SE, ACE, Avast, AVG, Mcafee, ParetoLogic XoftSpySE, PREVX and spyware be-gone. Also, I do recommend that you clean/restore your registry files…if these are corrupted, your PC will slow down. The software to help you with your registry: RegCure and Regpair. Some of the above mentioned programs can be downloaded at www.cnet.com. Please use these utilities and let’s know the outcome. Thank you and have a good day. With regards to pop-ups, have you tried simply using a pop-up blocker? The removal of viruses and other malwares does affect your PC registry. Also, there are softwares out there such as “Explorer Repair” that resets your TCP/IP settings, deletes ARP Cache, repair your host files, checks your winsock files . Hopefully, one of the guys will be able to address your log file and get back to you.

it only effects the websites i listed, but the whole computer is acting weird, definately not just an internet problem. i'll give AVG a go, cheers!
