The ADE-division of KLA-Tencor develops and manufactures metrology tools for the semiconductor industry as well as a variety other markets, such as data storage and optical shop testing. At the Tucson location interferometric techniques are used in many different tools for the measurement of the surface topography of wafers and disk substrates, the figure error of lenses and mirrors, the wavefront quality of optical assemblies, and micro-topography of technical surfaces. We are looking for an optical engineer to support the development of interferometric tools from inception to transition to production. This position requires learning our technology in a short time and being able to apply it, being flexible and able to support multiple projects, leveraging the understanding of optical engineering principles in the systems design, and becoming familiar with the metrology applications of our customers.
In particular, this position entails:
Optical engineering analyses and designs, hands-on work in the lab with experimental set-ups, experimentation and data analysis, management of development projects, development of documentation and procedures, and trouble shooting and manufacturing support.
Master's Level Degree with at least 3-5 years of experience.
OR
Doctorate (academic/experimental) in Optical Engineering/Physics
