CUSTOM APPLICATION ENGINEER

Job description:
The Custom Application Engineer provides development support and/or custom TCL, CUE and VXML services to customers.
Technically leads projects and coordination with other departments and participation in scheduling (from conception to testing.)
Will need the ability to manage technical relationships with several third party companies at a time. Will impact the company through influence and contribution in cross-functional areas. Provide pre-sales and post-sales support on high profile customers. Will act as a technical liaison between product team and third party to champion their issues. Provides support via phone and e-mail for exposed interfaces through the third party product development life cycle. Sets group direction with respect to business processes/best practices, technical focus, customer priorities and product team interaction.

Required skills:
Typically requires MSEE/CS combined with 8 or more years of related experience, or BSEE/CS combined with 10+ or more yrs related experience.
Proficiency with Cisco routers and switches at a CCNP or CCIE level is a plus.
At least five years experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies and two years with Cisco IPC technologies is required, including: Cisco CallManager, Unity, Voice Gateways, Gatekeeper, H.323, MGCP, SIP, SCCP and LAN/WAN switching.
Experience using Tcl/Expect, VXML scripting language. Programming experience in Java, C or C++ experience a plus. Experience with real-time mission-critical applications a plus.
Expert ability to apply Software Development Lifecycle process to project management.
Negotiates very technical complex issues with customers. Consistently demonstrates the ability to leverage and apply technical and business knowledge. Excellent technical presentation skills with all levels-including executives.
Demonstrates in depth knowledge of customer business requirements.

Travel will be 30%.
