hi i need some suggestions for my project

hi i am planning to do a project on allowing a person to access something based on his thumb impression as password.... i want to know wich device i can use... and on which domain i can implement it.... and also i want to add some features for it i.e. as and when the person keeps his thumb on that device particular entry must be made in the database
