Hello. I hope someone can help me with the following problem.
When I restart Windows XP Home, I get a black screen with the following error message.
Userinit.exe Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005)
I click OK and after a while a blue screen appears with this message
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Technical information:
STOP: 0X00000050 (0XFFFFFFE8,0X00000001,0X804D9079,0X00000000)
When I start in Safe Mode I get the same error message as before:
Userinit.exe Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005)
In Safe Mode there is no Windows Explorer. The only way I can access explorer is by using Windows Task Manager and starting a new explorer task from there.
I've uninstalled all the software that I've installed over the last 2 weeks. I don't have any new hardware installed.
I've searched the Microsoft website and Kelly's Korner but I can't find anything that relates 100% to my problem. I'm afraid that if I follow instructions that are only similar, I might do more damage.
I've tried chkdsk/f /r but with no luck and System Restore doesn't work (another problem). I've also tried using the Recovery Console but that doesn't work either nor does Last Known Good Configuration
Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions.
