Easy way to clone multiple partitions?

  #1
Sep 2nd, 2007
Hi guys,

I have a HDD split into three partitions. The first partition has just Windows system files. The second has only application files. The third is now empty.

Something is wrong with that HDD. When I try to boot it, I get "A disk read error occurred". Fortunately I have another drive with XP loaded, and I can boot into that with no problem - I am using it now, and am using the XP chkdsk (properties of the drive > tools > error checking) to scan the bad drive and its partitions.

It is possible that the drive is screwed up and cannot recover. However, I can access the bad drive's file system with no problem when I boot into XP on my good HDD.

My question is this: can I somehow clone the two partitions I mentioned to a third empty HDD, so when I boot with that new HDD, it will work just like my bad drive did before it went bad? If so, how?

Thanks for any help or ideas!

Mark
