Software Engineer
Research & Development Division


Medidata is looking for talented Software Engineers to join the development team for the Rave product. These engineers will handle all phases of the product lifecycle, taking functional specifications from proof-of-concept prototypes to finished, production code. All development uses ASP.NET and C# to produce elegant and easy to use web pages that together comprise the Rave application.

Responsibility Overview:
* Lead the design and develop new Rave components according to specifications from the product management team. This includes screen and report layouts, processing logic and database design.

* Explore new technologies such as AJAX and propose opportunities to incorporate these technologies into the product

* Liaise with Quality Assurance personnel who are developing test cases for the new system functionality

* Provide diagnostic support and bug fixing for existing Rave product releases

Note: At Medidata, developers focus almost exclusively on writing code. A separate group produces technical documentation, such as design specs.

Qualifications:

Must have:
* Four-year college degree preferably in computer science, information systems or life sciences
* Proven track record of delivery
* Good communication skills
* Ability to produce quality software under tight time constraints
* 5+ years experience in a software development environment
* 2+ years of ASP.NET
* 2+ years of c#
* Experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle

Beneficial to have:
* Experience working in a regulated environment
* Experience with clinical research processes
