  #1
Sep 20th, 2007
Ok I am running vista home, with amd turion 64 x2 mobile tech TL-56 1.8 ghz I have 98 Gigs of open hard drive and 989 mbs of memory . I guess thats the system.
Now the hard part, it all started 2 days ago with lots of lagging things not running pop ups all over the place. the pop ups are mostly windows infected BS wanting me to buy their crap. well I have Norton and spydoctor. I ran them both and they both show nothing NOW. Norton showed nothing at all but spydoctor found lots for the first 5 scans or so. Now I am still getting these stupid pop ups I have run hijackthis and I have a huge list of crap that I have no clue what it means, thats where I need your help. I am not sure, what you will need from me, and you will have to break it down like your talking to a 3rd grader I am not to computer savvy!
Thank you
PS Changed it and posted here as you asked thanks

Can you please do the following.

===============

Download the newest version of HiJackThis; version 2.0.2. Place it in a permanent folder before scanning. Repost your log after following the steps below.

===============

Scan with HijackThis and then place a check next to all the following, if present:

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...lion&pf=laptop
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...lion&pf=laptop
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =

O9 - Extra button: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Programs\PartyGaming\PartyPoker\RunApp.exe (file missing)

OK I have done all that but now I have a new problem it looks my video card isn't working right. And I still have that stupid pop up that say windows has spyware in it! I also have a "top consumers gift" pop up!
Should I still be using spy doctor or get rid of it?
Here is a picture of what my screen looks like now. open it with paint

PS the video card only seems to act up when I open FireFox. In need of help bad.

Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Re: help with my computer files

1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop.
  • Click on Avenger.zip to open the file
  • Extract avenger.exe to your desktop

2. Copy all the text (including the 'Files to delete') contained in the code box below to your clipboard by highlighting it and pressing Ctrl+C:

Files to delete:
C:\Users\mike\AppData\Local\wavjgz.exe
Programs to launch on reboot:
C:\Users\mike\Downloads\analysethis.exe

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.
  • Under "Script file to execute" choose "Input Script Manually".
  • Now click on the Magnifying Glass icon which will open a new window titled "View/edit script"
  • Paste the text copied to clipboard into this window by pressing (Ctrl+V).
  • Click Done
  • Now click on the Green Light to begin execution of the script
  • Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.
4. The Avenger will automatically do the following:
  • It will Restart your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Unload", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
  • On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
  • After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
  • The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.
5. Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply along with a fresh HJT log by using Add/Reply

I have set hijackthis to start when you reboot if you wonder why it started . Let me know how the pc is after the removal of that file.

Download the Pocket KillBox
Unzip the file to your desktop.
Run Pocket Killbox and paste the full file path of the below file in the box and click on Standard File Kill and End Explorer Shell While Killing File. Click on the button with the red circle and an X in the middle after you enter the file.

C:\Users\mike\AppData\Local\wavjgz.exe

Reboot afterwards if the file is successfully deleted.

If the file is not deleted, do not reboot yet. Run Pocket Killbox again and paste the full file path in the box and click on Delete on Reboot. Next click on the button with the red circle and an X in the middle. You will get a message saying "File with be deleted on next reboot, Process and Reboot now?" Click "Yes" to reboot.

Do another scan with smitfraudfix using option #1 and post the log back.

That log looks ok to me now. If you know the path to "dialer.instant_access" you can use the Killbox to delete it.
How is the PC now?
Please post a new hijackthis log in your next reply.
